• Prof. SS Agarwal Young Scientist Award

The Society for Indian Academy of Medical Genetics (SIAMG) has established the Dr S S Agarwal Young Scientist Award to honor young researchers excelling in Medical Genetics research in India. This annual award recognizes the best published research paper in Medical Genetics from July 1 of the previous year to June 30 of the award year. Eligibility is limited to scientists or students not older than 40 years on June 30 of the award year, with the applicant as the first author. The award includes a citation and Rs.15,000 cash prize. Recipients must register for the SIAMG annual meeting and present their work there. The selection is made by an appointed advisory committee.

• Prof. IC Verma Outstanding Researcher Award

The Dr I C Verma Outstanding Researcher Award, instituted by the Society for Indian Academy of Medical Genetics, annually recognizes senior clinicians or scientists for exceptional contributions to Medical Genetics in India. Recipients must demonstrate visionary leadership, major scientific advancements, and efforts to increase field awareness over the last five years. Eligible nominees are Indian citizens over forty, with at least five years of service in the country, nominated by SIAMG members or institutional heads. The award includes a citation, ₹25,000, and travel support, and is presented at the SIAMG annual meeting, where the awardee shares their work.

• Prof. SS Agarwal Oration Award

The Dr. Shyam S. Agarwal Oration, instituted by the Society for Indian Academy of Medical Genetics (SIAMG), honors the legacy of Dr. Shyam S. Agarwal, a pioneer in medical genetics and clinical immunology in India. This distinguished oration is presented annually at the SIAMG conference to a leading expert who shares insights on advances in medical genetics. The oration aims to inspire and educate attendees while celebrating Dr. Agarwal’s significant contributions to genetic research, education, and clinical practice. It underscores SIAMG’s commitment to advancing genetics and fostering excellence in medical science in India.

• Dr. Alaka Ekbote Best Poster Award

The Dr Alka Ekbote Best Poster Award, instituted by the Society for Indian Academy of Medical Genetics (SIAMG) in memory of late colleague Dr Alka Ekbote, recognizes excellence in poster presentations at the annual SIAMG conference. This award honors Dr Ekbote’s legacy by encouraging high-quality scientific communication among medical geneticists. Presented to the best poster, it highlights outstanding research and effective presentation skills. The award celebrates Dr Ekbote’s contributions to the field and inspires researchers to uphold rigorous standards in genetics research dissemination at the society's annual gathering.
